Who can sign up as a tutor on SGLessons?
Anyone with a passion for teaching can sign up as a tutor on SGLessons, provided they meet basic qualifications and have relevant experience. We welcome educators interested in tutoring jobs across various subjects to share their expertise with students.

To get started, submit your application with details on your qualifications, teaching experience, preferred schedule, and other relevant information. This helps us match you with suitable tuition assignments that align with your skills and availability.
Do I need to have a permit or license to teach?
Private freelance tutors operating outside of tuition centres (e.g. at home, co-working space or cafe) in Singapore are not required to be registered with MOE. Source: MOE
Depending on the location and subject you teach, you might need to follow additional rules or regulations. For example:
- If you want to tutor students at your HDB home, you are allowed to teach not more than 3 students at the time. Source: Home-Based Business Scheme, HDB
- To provide sport coaching at ActiveSG facilities you must obtain a usage permit. Source: ActiveSG Rules and Regulations
- To offer tuition services at Community Centres you me be registered as PA Trainer or PA Operator. Source: People's Association
Additionaly, all freelance tutors and coaches are required to report their income to the IRAS for tax purposes and may need to register as a sole proprietorship with ACRA if they operate as a business.
Is this a free service?
Yes, you can use our services free of charge. You can sign up, create a tutoring profile, collect reviews, and get contacted by students completely free.
We only charge for an optional additional service that boosts your profile visibility and helps attract more attention from students. This service is intended for full-time tutors who want to fill their schedules quickly. You are not required to pay for this extra service.
How will I receive tuition assignments?
When a student is interested in your profile and want to ask you a question or make a lesson booking request, you will receive an email from SGLessons.
We do not "assign" students to tutors. A student have the freedom to select a tutor based on the tutor's profile, including personal information, education, experience, qualifications, teaching preferences, hourly rate, and other details.
How will I get paid?
Your student will pay you directly. We do not charge any commission or fees on payments between you and learners.
