I have little experience in teaching or mentoring. However, as I have participated in the MOE teaching internship programme, I have had the wondrous opportuniy to watch different teachers educate their classes in unique and efficient ways.
One way I would deliver my service would be through understanding the student's thought process and breaking down the different processes in the subject to provide better explanations about the topics. I will also attempt to tailor my tutoring methods to match the student's needs.
Most importantly, I believe a comfortable and warm environment is required for learning, to aid the student in asking questions, as I believe many students do not ask questions in fear of being criticised or made fun of.
As such, I strive to create a positive and embracing environment for the students and provide effective and efficient methods to teach the syllabus.
As a current NTU Mathematics Undergraduate, I am striving to achieve my goal in further studies as an NIE-trained teacher and would like to gain experience in teaching as well as provide students who are having trouble in their studies to be more confident in their work in a comfortable environment.
