Graduate from Nanyang Technological University with First-Class Honours (2019) Biological Sciences and Psychology, under scholarship. Completed secondary and high school education in Victoria School (O Levels) and Raffles Institution (A Levels) respectively. I am capable of teaching secondary school subjects (Pure Biology, Pure Chemistry, Pure Physics, A & E Mathematics, Geography elective, Social Studies, English, Creative Writing), high school subjects (Biology, Chemistry), and university biology.
I believe in using empathy as an educational tool - guiding the student from the perspective of the student. As someone who has gone through Singapore's education system, I am experienced in identifying the difficulties in grasping conceptual understanding of the syllabus from my personal experiences. I prefer to adopt a problem-solving approach by first identifying and building on the strengths and weaknesses of the student, before developing a suitable 'algorithm' to tackle problems. I also believe in holistic development in developing a conceptual understanding of the subject by building upon a strong intellectual foundation.
